Scarborough senior Keegan Weed, joined by his parents, Doug and Peggy, is all smiles after signing his Celebratory Letter of Intent Friday to attend and play football at Springfield College, a Division III school in Massachusetts. Weed was a league all-star last season.
“It’s been a big goal of mine to play college ball,” said Weed, who plans to study sports management. “I was looking at about eight schools, but Springfield reached out to me. The brotherhood of the team stood out. As soon as I got there, I felt right at home. The program is very successful. I’ll mainly play wide receiver, but anywhere they want me, I’ll go. This is something I dreamed of since I was a little kid.”
