Elizabeth Jeannotte
SARASOTA, Fla. – Elizabeth was born April 9, 1918 and had just turned 105.
She was a Maine native who spent the most of her adult life in Freeport. She was a teacher in the Freeport schools for many years. Her late husband was the owner and director of the funeral home on Main Street where they also resided.
She was predeceased by husband, Russell; daughter, Jeanne and son, Jim.
After retiring, she resided for several years with her daughter in Nokomis, Fla. and recently resided in Sarasota, Fla. She just celebrated her 105th birthday receiving cards/notes from Senator Collins and Senator King. Additionally she received several birthday cards from Freeport friends which greatly pleased her.
From the three lovely ladies who were by her side of late, they write “It is with heavy heart but loving words that our precious Betty slipped away and is on another adventure. Remember her stories, Remember her laughs and Remember she loved each and everyone but the biggest Remembrance is she was a true MAINER through and through.”
Betty will rest next to her husband in the Maine Veterans Cemetery.
