FALMOUTH – Paul Richard Barbera, of Falmouth, died April 19, 2023. Born on May 13, 1933 to Marion and Salvatore Barbera, he grew up in Boston’s West End.

He attended BC High in Boston, Mass. and Browne and Nichols Prep School in Cambridge, Mass. before attending Bates College in Lewiston, where he played football and met the love of his life, Elizabeth. They married in 1956.

Paul owned Progress Sharing Company and later retired from Cross Insurance after many years in the insurance business.

Watching sports, spending time with his grandchildren and spending summers at Higgins Beach surfing were his favorites. Paul was a family man.

Predeceased by his sister, he is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth; his five children; his beloved grandchildren; and his brother, Kevin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated May 17 at 11:30 a.m. Holy Martyrs Church, 266 Foreside Rd. Falmouth. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yarmouth.
