Bryce Richardson scored on a throwing error in the bottom of the seventh to give Fryeburg Academy a 3-2 walk-off baseball win over previously undefeated Wells Monday at Fryeburg.
Alexis Castillo and Tom Ontengco both had two hits for Fryeburg (3-2). Bryan Martinez Chavez pitched six innings and Daniel Kim pitched the seventh for the win.
Caleb Moody drove in both runs for Wells (4-1) on a third-inning single.
FREEPORT 11, YORK 4: Aidan Heath drove in three runs, with a sacrifice fly and two-run single, to lead the Falcons (3-3) over the visiting Wildcats (2-4) at Freeport.
Zane Aguirre and Aaron Converse had three hits apiece for Freeport.
Starter Tristan Francis threw five innings, allowing two earned runs, on five hits, striking out three and walking a pair, and Heath and Liam Emmons combined for three hitless innings of relief.
THORNTON ACADEMY 9, MARSHWOOD 6: Trailing 6-1 through five innings, the Golden Trojans (3-2) rallied with five runs in the top of the sixth and added three in the seventh as they rallied past the Hawks (3-2) at South Berwick.
Jeremiah Chessie, Evan Beaudette and Josh Penney had two hits apiece for Thornton Academy.
Jack Nussbaum picked up the win for the Trojans, throwing a pair of hitless innings in relief, striking out two.
SOFTBALL
WINDHAM 14, NOBLE 0: Kennedy Kimball went 2 for 4, including a fifth-inning home run, and drove in five runs as the Eagles (4-1) downed the Knights (1-4) in five innings at Berwick.
Addison Caiazzo had three hits to lead the 12-hit attack, and Hannah Heanssler added a pair of hits for Windham.
Brooke Gerry threw a two-hitter, striking out 11 to pick up the victory.
GORHAM 20, FALMOUTH 1: Kyleah Mack had four hits and drove in three for the Rams (2-2) as they scored 12 runs in the bottom of the second and handled the Navigators (0-2) in five innings at Gorham.
Sophia Diphilippo had a home run and drove in four for Gorham, Amber Bretton added a homer and had three RBI and Gretchen Dixon drove in three.
KENNEBUNK/SANFORD 6, DEERING 1: Kennebunk/Sanford (4-0) broke the game open with a five-run sixth inning, paced by a two-run homer for Emily Hutchins, in beating the Rams (0-5) at Portland.
Juliann Pike had an RBI triple to open the scoring for Kennebunk/Sanford and added a run-scoring double in the third.
Sophie Hill drove in Deering’s run with a single in the bottom of the first.
YORK 16, FREEPORT 1: McKayla Kortes threw a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts and added an RBI single to lead the Wildcats (4-0) over the Falcons (1-4) in six innings at Freeport.
Ella Moon had three hits for York, and Maddie Fitzgerald added a pair of hits and drove in a pair.
GIRLS’ LACROSSE
YARMOUTH 11, WAYNFLETE 5: Brooke Boone and Aine Powers scored three goals apiece as the Clippers (4-1) topped the Flyers (0-4) at Yarmouth.
Lauren Keaney added two goals and one assist and Neena Panozzo put up one goal and two assists. Sadie Carnes had a goal and Reagan Sullivan made three saves.
Cassy Tisley led Waynflete with three goals.
