Binghamton scored four runs in the seventh inning to complete a comeback from a four-run deficit, ending Maine’s 10-game winning streak with an 18-17 victory Sunday in an America East baseball game in Vestal, New York.

Maine (17-12, 11-1 America East) finished with 23 hits. The first four batters in the lineup – Jake Rainess, Quinn McDaniel, Jeremiah Jenkins and Connor Goodman – combined for 15 hits, 14 RBI and 12 runs. Rainess and Goodman each had four hits, including a home run, and drove in four runs.

No. 9 hitter Colin Plante added three hits and three runs.

Binghamton improved to 19-12 overall, 5-3 in America East.

ST. JOSEPH’S SPLITS: Jared Wilhelm, Terry Morrissey and Zach Miles each drove in two runs as the Monks (13-17, 7-5 GNAC) won 8-0 in a doubleheader opener against Rivier (8-20, 5-7) in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Monks starter Jason Johnson allowed only three hits over five innings.

Jackson Stanton led St. Joseph’s with three hits in Game 2, but the Raiders scored five runs in the eighth inning to rally for a 7-4 win.

SMCC SPLITS: Derek Hoh and Liam Cooledge each went 3 for 4 with three RBI as Southern Maine Community College (14-12, 5-2 YSCC) routed Quincy College in a doubleheader opener in South Portland, 21-0 in five innings.

Anthony Sayers contributed a two-run homer. Logan Burt and Liam Milne combined on a two-hitter.

Justin Colon and Dylan Sellinger each drove in two runs in Game 2, but the SeaWolves lost 8-7.

SOFTBALL

ST. JOSEPH’S SPLITS: Olivia Howe was 3 for 4 with a two-run homer and Meredith Pence pitched a four-hitter to lead the Monks (15-13, 3-1 GNAC) to a 4-1 win over Emmanuel (15-13, 6-2) in a doubleheader opener in Boston.

Lydia Goodnough added a two-run double.

Sydney Hatch allowed only four hits in Game 2, but a first-inning RBI single by Olivia Conti was enough to give the Saints a 1-0 win.

UMASS LOWELL 5, MAINE 4: The River Hawks (15-21-1, 5-6 America East) scored five runs in the seventh inning to stun the Black Bears (10-27, 3-7) in Orono.

Alysen Rieth took a no-hitter into the seventh, but Lowell rallied and tied the game on a three-run homer by Cayla Tuttle. An error led to a go-ahead RBI single by Tori Mueller off reliever Alexandra Gruitch.

Krista Francia drove in three runs for Maine with a triple in the second inning and a single in the sixth.

UNE LOSES TWICE: Emma DeSilva’s bases-loaded triple snapped a 2-2 tie in the opener, and Endicott (18-6, 8-2 Commonwealth Coast) went on to sweep a doubleheader against the University of New England (8-20, 5-5) in Biddeford, 6-2 and 4-1.

Makenzy Herron had a two-run single for UNE in Game 1. Becca Dumont and Kenzie Bessette each had two hits in Game 2, and Dumont scored on a sacrifice fly by Abby Miner.

BATES LOSES TWICE: Katherine Merisotis homered for Bates in the first game a doubleheader, but the Bobcats (11-11, 5-7 NESCAC) were swept by Amherst (17-9, 5-5), losing 3-2 and 3-1 in Amherst, Massachusetts.

The Mammoths won Game 1 in 10 innings.

COLBY LOSES TWICE: Williams (11-11, 5-3 NESCAC) rallied from a 6-0 deficit to win a doubleheader opener in nine innings, 8-6, then completed a sweep with an 11-4 victory over the Mules (16-10, 6-4) in Williamstown, Massachusetts.

Emma Burnham drove in three runs for Colby in Game 1, and Logan Luebbe and Carissa Cassidy each had three hits. Cassidy added two more hits in the second game.
