Julia Bassi, Bangor senior: Bassi won the Class A shot put title with a state-leading mark of 38 feet, 8 inches to help lift the Rams to their third straight indoor state title.
Emma Burr, Maine Central Institute senior: Burr won the 55-meter hurdles (8.88 seconds) and 200 (26.81) at the Class B state meet and finished second in the 55 dash (7.47).
Anna Connors, Bangor senior: Connors won the 200 (25.85) at the Class A state meet, and took second in the 400 (58.87) and third in the 55 (7.4). She posted the fastest time in the state in the 200 (24.36) and 400 (57.28).
Cary Drake, York junior: Drake won three events in Class B – the mile (5:19.32), 2-mile (11:35.06) and 800 (with a state-leading time of 2:18.03). Drake led the state with her mile time of 4:59.11, and took third in the mile at the New England championships (5:02.01).
Emerson Flaker, Scarborough sophomore: Flaker won the 400 (58.28), placed second in the 55 (7.38) and took third in the 200 (26.41) at the Class A state meet.
Caroline Fallona, Scarborough senior: Fallona won the 55 at the Class A meet with a state-leading time of 7.21. She also took second in the 200 (26.35).
Natasha Monreal, Bucksport junior: Monreal dominated the jumps, defending her Class B titles in the long jump (17-1) and triple jump (34-7 1/4).
Samantha Moore, Portland sophomore: Moore captured individual state tiles in the 800 (2:21.56) and mile (5:24.15) at the Class A state meet to help Portland finish third.
Julia Pendleton, Bonny Eagle sophomore: Pendleton won the long jump (17-2) at the Class A meet and placed in two other events. She led the state in the long jump with her mark of 17-5.
Addy Thibodeau, Bonny Eagle junior: Thibodeau won the 2-mile (11:41.14) at the Class A meet and led the state in the event with her time of 11:26.51.
COACH OF THE YEAR
Frank Myatt, Portland: The Portland girls haven’t won an indoor track title since 1991, but in just his second year as head coach, Myatt led the Bulldogs to a third-place finish at the Class A meet. They achieved that result a year after finishing 14th, and after failing to score a single point at the previous state meet, in 2020.
