I wish to express my strong disapproval of the cartoon of the secretary of transportation, Pete Buttigieg, and his handling of the East Palestine derailment (Rivers, Feb. 23, Page A6). This depiction was not only infantile in every sense but also offensive to the LGBTQ community and a very silly response to the official himself and to the regulators.
If there is such a need to try to pander to the right, if only through a cartoon, please show some editorial backbone and have a more balanced selection of cartoons.
