Standout senior basketball players from near and far will take part in the 43rd annual Maine McDonald’s High School Senior All-Star Games Saturday, March 11 at Husson University in Bangor.

Nearly 100 student-athletes from across the state will take part in four different North vs. South games.

The girls’ Class AA/A/B South team consists of Bonny Eagle’s Kaitlyn Barash, Falmouth’s Anna Turgeon, Greely’s Sophia Ippolito, Lake Region’s Melissa Mayo, Medomak Valley’s Addison McCormick, Oceanside’s Audrey Mackie, Sanford’s Riley Hebler, South Portland’s Anna Brown, Spruce Mountain’s Emily Dubord and Mariyah Fournier and Thornton Academy’s Hannah Cook and Jessica Dow.

They’ll face off against the Class AA/A/B North squad, which includes Bangor’s Abbigail Quinn and Emilyn Streams, Caribou’s Selena Savage, Gardiner’s Lizzy Gruber, Hampden Academy’s Isabella McLaughlin, Houlton’s Drew Warman, Lawrence’s Hope Bouchard, Nokomis’ Camryn King and Brianna Townsend, Oxford Hills’ Sierra Carson and Molly Corbett and Presque Isle’s Anna Jandreau.

The Class C/D South team consists of Carrabec’s Lindsay Hamilton, Dirigo’s Jayce Brophy, Hall-Dale’s Amanda Trepanier, Kents Hill’s Logan McDonald, Madison’s Ashlee Clough, Monmouth Academy’s Holly Hunts, North Yarmouth Academy’s Sarah English and Angel Huntsman, Old Orchard Beach’s Elise MacNair, Seacoast Christian’s Breckyn Winship, Traip Academy’s Emme Hale and Valley’s Brielle Hill.

They’ll square off against the Class C/D North squad which includes Central’s Rylee Speed, Dexter’s Jozlynn Paige, Fort Kent’s Larissa Daigle, Hodgdon’s Marissa Dow, Machias’ Jayden Anderson and Jaida Case, Penobscot Valley’s Holly Loring and Kaya Loring, Southern Aroostook’s Madison Russell, Stearns’ Kelly Farber and Wisdom’s Kelly Farber and Olivia Ouellette.

On the boys’ side, the Class AA/A/B South team consists of Biddeford’s Julius Silva, Brunswick’s Thomas Harvey, Falmouth’s Judd Armstrong, Greely’s Seamus Raftice, Leavitt’s Sawyer Hathaway, Lisbon’s Levi Tibbitts, Maranacook’s Brayden St. Pierre, Marshwood’s Andrew Perry, South Portland’s Jaelen Jackson, Thornton Academy’s Braden Camire and Will Davies and Westbrook’s Kolbyn Dunphe.

They’ll match up against the Class AA/A/B North squad which includes Brewer’s Brock Flagg , Ryder Goodwin and Brady Saunders, Cheverus’ Silvano Ismail, Edward Little’s Landon Cougle, Mt. Blue’s Chandler Briggs, Nokomis’ Madden White, Old Town’s Braydon Brown, Oxford Hills’ Cole Pulkkinen, Portland’s Pitia Donato and Remijo Wani and Presque Isle’s Malachi Cummings.

The Class C/D South team consists of Carrabec’s Luke Carey, Dirigo’s Charlie Houghton and Trenton Hutchinson, Forest Hills’ Mason Desjardins, Hall-Dale’s TJ Wilson, Madison’s Callan Franzose, Monmouth Academy’s Manny Calder and Hunter Frost, Mt. Abram’s Kaden Pillsbury, Old Orchard Beach’s Landon Johnson, Richmond’s Connor Vashon and Sacopee Valley’s Carson Black.

They’ll meet the Class C/D North squad which includes Calais’ Jace Cook and Jacob Sockabasin, Dexter’s Will Kusnierz, Hodgdon’s Walker Oliver, Jonesport-Beals’ Damon Beal, Lee Academy’s Andrew Scott, Machias’ Shane Feeney and Ethan Foss, Schenck’s Ryan Ingalls, Southern Aroostook’s Camden Porter and Graham Siltz and Woodland’s Ethan Monk.

This year’s boys’ regional foul shooting champions are Brewer’s Brady Saunders, Forest Hills’ Mason Desjardins, Poland’s John Patenaude and Thornton Academy’s Braden Camire.

This year’s girls’ regional foul shooting champions are Cheverus’ Megan Dearborn, Hodgdon’s Anna Oliver, Oceanside’s Audrey Mackie and South Portland’s Anna Brown.

The girls’ Academic All-State team consists of Bangor’s Taylor Coombs, Bonny Eagle’s Kaitlyn Bartash, Foxcroft Academy’s Abigail Knapp, Greely’s Cassidy Dean and Sophia Ippolito, Monmouth Academy’s Holly Hunt, Narraguagus’ Laney Oliver, Oxford Hills’ Sierra Carson, Sacopee Valley’s Brooke Landry, Scarborough’s Julia Black and Daisy Stone and Westbrook’s Natalie LaBrie.

The boys’ Academic All-State team includes Boothbay’s Gryffin Kristan, Brewer’s Brady Saunders, Cony’s Kameron Douin, Dexter’s Will Kusnierz, Forest Hills’ Mason Desjardins, George Stevens Academy’s Azaiah Nanson, Lawrence’s Parker Higgins, Marshwood’s Jared Herrin and Jason Singer, Mount Desert Island’s Evan Ankrom, Mt. Ararat’s Brady Merrill and Seacoast Christian’s Daniel Poirier.

Girls’ state Coaches of the Year include Oxford Hills’ Nate Pelletier (AA North), Gardiner’s Mike Gray (A North), Old Town’s Heather Richards (B North), Dexter’s Jody Grant (C North), Southern Aroostook’s Cliff Urquhart (D North), Thornton Academy’s Eric Marston (AA South), Brunswick’s Sam Farrell and Gray-New Gloucester’s Mike Andreasen (A South), Oceanside’s Matt Breen (B South), Old Orchard Beach’s Dean Plante (C South) and Seacoast Christian’s Lee Petrie (D South).

Boys’ state Coaches of the Year include Oxford Hills’ Scott Graffam (AA North), Brewer’s Ben Goodwin (A North), Ellsworth’s Peter Austin (B North), Penquis Valley’s Sam Brown (C North), Schenck’s Aaron Hutchins and Southern Aroostook’s Brett Russell (D North), Thornton Academy’s Bob Davies (AA South), Westbrook’s Bryan Hoy and Gray-New Gloucester’s Ryan Deschenes (A South), Lincoln Academy’s Ryan Ball (B South), Old Orchard Beach’s Matt Regan (C South) and Forest Hills’ Anthony Amero (D South).

Last and certainly not least, the semifinalists for the prestigious Mr. Maine Basketball and Miss Maine Basketball awards, given to the state’s premier senior players, have been announced.

Mr. Maine Basketball finalists include Brewer’s Brock Flagg and Brady Saunders, Cheverus’ Silvano Ismail, Dexter’s Will Kusnierz, Dirigo’s Charlie Houghton, Nokomis’ Madden White, Oxford Hills’ Cole Pulkkinen, South Portland’s Jaelen Jackson, Thornton Academy’s Will Davies and Winslow’s Jason Reynolds.

The Miss Maine Basketball finalists include Bangor’s Emilyn Streams, Falmouth’s Anna Turgeon, Gardiner’s Lizzy Gruber, Hampden Academy’s Isabella McLaughlin, Lawrence’s Hope Bouchard, North Yarmouth Academy’s Angel Huntsman, Oceanside’s Audrey Mackie, Old Orchard Beach’s Elise MacNair, Oxford Hills’ Sierra Carson and Southern Aroostook’s Maddy Russell.

The Mr. Maine Basketball and Miss Maine Basketball winners will be announced at a banquet Friday, March 10 at the Anah Shrine Hall in Bangor.
