The South Portland Food Cupboard is holding its third Battle of the Neighborhoods, which will kick off Tuesday.
The annual event challenges neighborhoods to donate the most non-perishable food items as they can. Last year’s winner was Sunset Park, followed by Willard/Loveitts Field and Thornton Heights.
In total, 15,369 pounds of food was raised through the 2022 drive.
To contribute, drop off food items any morning at the Food Cupboard at 130 Thadeus St. Community members are asked to clearly label which neighborhood they are from so they can count toward the contest.
