Mike Foley and Nick Laughlin both rushed for over 100 yards and three touchdowns to lead third-seeded Cape Elizabeth (7-2) to a 46-8 victory over No. 6 Fryeburg Academy (4-5) in a Class C South quarterfinal Monday night at Hannaford Field.

The game was rescheduled from Friday due to illness at Cape Elizabeth.

The Capers went ahead to stay in the first quarter on a 2-yard touchdown run from Foley, then Laughlin scored from 28 yards out to make it 12-0.

The Raiders scored in the second quarter on a 3-yard TD run from Gunnar Saunders, but Foley’s 5-yard scamper made it 19-8 at the half.

Cape Elizabeth began the second half with a drive that ended with a 1-yard Laughlin touchdown run. After Tucker Clark fell on a Foley fumble in the end zone for another score, Laughlin broke away for a 60-yard TD to make it 39-8 after three quarters.

Foley’s final touchdown, a 1-yard run, capped the scoring.

The Capers go to No. 2 Wells for the semifinals Friday.
