We are voting for Julie Opperman for the Portland Board of Public Education in District 3.
We have known Julie for over 25 years. She is a person of principle and substance and is genuinely committed to her community. As a classroom teacher, academic and parent, Julie is particularly qualified to serve on the school board.
Julie is focused on student outcomes. She is tireless in her goal is to ensure that every student is engaged in learning and ready for the future. This is hard work, but Julie is up to the task. She is keenly aware of the need to support our teachers, parents, ed techs and staff in this collective effort. Julie is a good listener, communicator and collaborator – key skills necessary to help get our students to the level of engagement and achievement that we all want and they all deserve.
