Having served four years in the Legislature with Democratic Sen. Anne Carney, I’m proud to support her for reelection.
Anne is a colleague and friend who shares values I hold dear – a commitment to family, community, justice and our environment. Her experience as an attorney and community leader has enabled her to accomplish great things for Maine. She’s helped pass laws extending health care to 40,000 Maine children, including 19- and 20-year-olds; providing a full year of postpartum coverage, and establishing air quality protections that reduce oil tank emissions.
As Senate chair of the Judiciary Committee, Anne shepherded civil rights protections against discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
Anne is masterful in building bipartisan coalitions that do what’s right for Maine people. She’s a skilled, smart, respected legislator who knows how to get things done in Augusta. Let’s reelect her to the Maine Senate.
