Lois Lowry, author of more than 40 books for children and young adults, including Newbery Award winners “The Giver” and “Number the Stars,” will speak at the Patten Free Library in Bath at 6 p.m. Saturday Oct. 15.
Lowry will discuss her latest book, “On the Horizon,” which reflects on the lives lost in the attack on Pearl Harbor and the bombing of Hiroshima. Lowry pulls from her own experience, as someone who grew up in Honolulu and moved to Japan at age 11.
Lowry will be signing books immediately following her talk, and books can be reserved in advance through Mockingbird Bookshop or purchased at the event. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
