SCARBOROUGH – Maria L. Dumond, 63, passed away on Aug. 11, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Maria moved to Scarborough, Maine, from Mexico City, Mexico, with her daughters in 2001. She helped her husband run his business, Goldstein Steel Co., where together, they delivered many steel beams to houses and businesses throughout the state of Maine.

Maria will always be remembered for her passion for gardening. Each spring, she eagerly waited for the perfect day to tend to her garden, which blossomed with the most beautiful flowers. Maria loved spending time at the lake where she watched her kids and grandkids grow up and would sit in her gazebo and watch the golden hour.

Maria was predeceased by her father Victor and mother Alicia. She’s survived by her husband, Danny, two daughters, Tenni and Naybi.

Maria is now at peace with her beloved dogs, Teddy, Coco, Mimi and Coqueta.

A private ceremony will be held to scatter Maria’s ashes at her request.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of Southern Maine for the care of Maria during her short battle with cancer.
