Stephen J. Nappi

STANDISH – Stephen J. Nappi, 69, died unexpectedly on Feb. 17, 2022 from a suspected cardiac event while driving his much-loved Ford F-150 truck. Steve was born on July 1, 1952 in Portland. He graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School and retired in 2020 from the Portland Water District after 40 years of service.

Steve loved spending time outdoors scouting with his ATVs and hunting and fishing with family and friends in Standish and Bancroft. He grew a robust garden and generously shared with those he loved. Steve also loved his morning get-togethers with his many friends at the Sebago Lake boat ramp. He was a great story teller with a larger-than-life personality. He always made his family and friends laugh.

Steve was predeceased by his parents Samuel J. and Charlene (Cook) Nappi; sister-in-law, Rhonda Nappi and brother-in-law, John Alston.

Stevie is survived by two sons, Stephen D. Nappi of Holland, Mass. and Brian E. Nappi of Jacksonville, Fla. He is also survived by three brothers, Paul Nappi and wife, Evelyn of Gray, Frank Nappi and wife, Flora Sue of New Gloucester, Joseph Nappi of Poland, his sister, Charlene McHale and husband, Allan of South Portland; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special friends James Bowden of Otisfield and Donna Jarvais of Standish.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. To express condolences and to participate in Steve’s online tribute, please visit http://www.DolbyBlaisSegee.com.
