SCARBOROUGH – Jane Elizabeth Parechanian, 94, died Wednesday Feb. 23, 2022 at The Landing at Saco Bay. She was born on May 12, 1927 in Cambridge, Mass., daughter to Horace E. Savill Jr and Lillian (Tobin) Savill. She married Robert H. Parechanian on August 20, 1950 and together they had three children.

Jane worked at Jordan Marsh and Macy’s department store for 20 years in the cosmetic department and prior to that, worked at Porteous in the clothing department.

She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, fashion shows, playing bingo, animals, being with friends and family. In the ’60s Jane attended charm school which served her well in the retail industry. She was a long time member of the UCT.

She was preceded by her husband, Robert; brother, Edward, brother-in-law, Alvin, sisters-in-law, Mary-Jane, Marcia, Maureen, Marilyn, Marjorie.

She is survived by a daughter, Jane and her husband Robert Snow of Portland, son, Robert H. Parechanian Jr. and his wife Micki Parechanian of Portland, a son, Gary and his wife Lisa Parechanian of Scarborough; sister, Myrna Cormier of New Hampshire; nine grandchildren, Kimberly and her husband Michael, Brenda, Diana, Robert H. III and his wife Lynsey, Casey, Amanda, Erik and his wife Amanda, Tyler, and Alex; 11 great-grandchildren, Sean, Austin, Isaac, Mikayla, Nicholas, Andre, Tristan, Calvin, Lyvia, Lilly and Emelia.

Visiting hours will be on Friday March 4 at 10 a.m. at Jones, Rich and Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland, immediately followed by a funeral service at 12 p.m. Burial will be in the spring at Brooklawn Memorial Park in Portland.
