SOUTH PORTLAND – Edward Augustus Bozsik, 75, of South Portland, Maine, passed peacefully with family on Feb. 23, 2022. at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough following a period of health complications.He was born on May 12, 1946, to Edward Francis and Julia Mary (Pierce) Bozsik in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Edward lost his mother, Julia, when he was 21. Later he welcomed Aino (Tamm) Bozsik as his stepmother.Ed grew up in Milford, Connecticut, graduating from Jonathan Law High School in Milford and he attended the University of Bridgeport. He worked at Milford Crane for years and later worked in a number of jobs throughout his life, including purchasing, welder, truck driver, kitchen designer, and appliance salesman. He married Jo-Ann Searles on April 15, 1978, bringing a daughter Theresa into his life and then two sons, John and Bryan. Edward was passionate about stamp and postcard collecting, particularly from the countries of his ancestry in Central and Eastern Europe. He also loved playing trivia and enjoyed meeting new people and was a strong supporter of public television. Ed thoroughly enjoyed being a New York Yankees fan stuck in the middle of Boston Red Sox nation. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Francis and Julia Mary, his stepmother Aino, sisters, Annette and Leslie, and brother Thomas.Edward is survived by his children, John, Bryan and his wife Inga, and Theresa Evangeliste, and his stepbrother Neilson Brown and wife Claudette. Edward had five beloved grandchildren, Marcus, Nicolas, Victor, Lucas, and Andras, his nieces and nephews Julie, Annette, Thomas, Marie, Meredith, Eddie, Rob, Cassie, and their children. A memorial service will be organized in the spring for family and friends. Dennett, Craig & Pate funeral home 365 Main St, Saco are entrusted with his services. Memorials or donations may be made to Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine to help share their compassion and care with those in need.
