Carmen G. Dussault

OLD ORCHARD BEACH – Carmen G. Dussault, 86, of Old Orchard Beach died peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022. Her final days were spent surrounded by the family and friends she loved so much.

Carmen was born in Lewiston on August 5, 1935, daughter of John and Ovelina Laliberte. She grew up around her parent’s grocery business, attended Lewiston High School and eventually opened her own business serving the same community.

On May 26, 1962, she married her beloved Richard Dussault. Together they moved to Portland, where they raised their family and remained until Richard’s passing in 1996.

After Richard’s passing Carmen would go on to marry Henry “Hank” Souza in 2002. Together they moved to Clearwater, Fla. where they enjoyed a few years in the warm Tampa Bay area before returning to Maine, finally settling in Old Orchard Beach.

Carmen had many interests and hobbies, most of them revolving around her love for being with friends and family, whether it be playing cards, scrabble, words with friends or an occasional scooter ride around town. She will be remembered for her welcoming spirit, compassionate counsel, and maternal support.

Carmen is preceded in death by her beloved husbands Richard Dussault and Henry Souza.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Dussault) Anderson and husband Michael, her sons Mark Dussault, John Dussault and his partner Rex Emrick; and six grandchildren, Seth, Kirsten, Rebecca, Riley, Beecher, and Baizley. She is also survived by Henry’s sons Dana Souza and his wife Kara, Douglas Souza and his wife Carla; and five grandchildren, Cullan, Michael, Keaton, Justin and Sarah.

No services are being scheduled at this time. A celebration of life will take place in the Spring of 2022.
