Cape Elizabeth’s search for a contractor to conduct its affordable housing study has been fruitless so far.
A Town Council workshop scheduled for Feb. 7 will help determine the next course of action, according to Town Manager Matthew Sturgis.
The council had hoped for the study to be completed before the November election, which will include a referendum on whether to repeal Town Council zoning amendments. A citizens group successfully petitioned for the referendum after the council passed zoning changes that would have allowed an affordable housing complex in the town center.
That deadline can still be met, Sturgis said, but it will be a challenge.
