Explore your life’s story at memoir-writing workshop

A series of memoir-writing workshops is being offered at the West Buxton Public Library via Zoom.

On Wednesday, Jan. 26, participants will get acquainted and learn Zoom procedures and workshop guidelines. Writing prompts and a fun exercise will also be included.

Guest presenter Elizabeth Peavey will discuss “How to Frame a Life” on Feb. 9. Peavey is the author of three books and has taught memoir writing to groups ranging from Master of Fine Arts candidates to middle school boys. She has also lectured on public speaking at the University of Southern Maine for more than 20 years.

Writing prompts, breakout sessions and an opportunity to share work for valuable feedback are on the schedule for the Feb. 23 workshop.

All classes are from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Six follow-up meetings will be scheduled from March through July.

The series is open to adults from Buxton, Hollis, Standish, Limington and surrounding towns, and participants may join as their schedule allows.
