WACO, Texas — Gerry Bohanon threw a touchdown and ran for two more scores, Baylor’s defense constantly pressured both Oklahoma quarterbacks and the 18th-ranked Bears won 27-14 Saturday to end the Sooners’ nation’s-best 17-game winning streak.
Abram Smith had 148 yards rushing, including a 75-yard scamper to set up the first of Bohanon’s rushing TDs in the fourth quarter, and the Bears (8-2, 5-2 Big 12, CFP No. 18) rebounded from an unexpected loss last week at struggling TCU.
The Sooners (9-1, 6-1, CFP No. 8) were held to 260 total yards, their fewest ever with Riley in his five seasons as head coach and two seasons as offensive coordinator before that. It was their fewest points in a regular-season game since a 48-14 home loss to Baylor in 2014, which came weeks before they ended that season with a 40-6 loss to Clemson in the Russell Athletic Bowl.
(1) GEORGIA 41, TENNESSEE 17: Stetson Bennett ran for a touchdown and threw for another as the top-ranked Bulldogs (10-0, 8-0 SEC) remained perfect, wrapping up their conference schedule by routing the Vols (5-5, 3-4) in Knoxville, Tennessee.
The Bulldogs actually trailed by their largest margin this season after Tennessee scored a touchdown on the opening drive. Georgia also was down 10-7 at the end of the first quarter, new territory for the Bulldogs, who had only trailed by a field goal each to Auburn and Missouri.
(3) ALABAMA 59, NEW MEXICO STATE 3: Bryce Young passed for 270 yards and five touchdowns, including three to Jameson Williams, and the Crimson Tide (9-1) beat the Aggies (1-9) in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Young completed 21 of 23 passes in just over a half and the Crimson Tide (9-1, No. 2 CFP) produced the expected romp after a slow start. Alabama even trailed briefly before rattling off seven touchdowns in 20 minutes for a 49-3 halftime lead over the Aggies (1-9).
Young became the first Alabama quarterback to complete his first 13 passes in a game, playing only one drive into the second half when he lost a fumble in New Mexico State territory.
(6) OHIO STATE 59, PURDUE 31: C.J. Stroud threw for 361 yards and five touchdowns, freshman TreVeyon Henderson rumbled for two more scores and the Buckeyes (9-1, 7-0 Big Ten) struck early and rolled over the Boilermakers (6-4, 4-3) in Columbus, Ohio.
The Buckeyes scored on all seven of their first-half possessions, piling up 45 points against a Purdue team that hadn’t allowed more than 30 in any game this year.
(7) NOTRE DAME 28, VIRGINIA 3: Jack Coan threw three touchdown passes and the Fighting Irish (9-1) extended their regular-season winning streak against Atlantic Coast Conference schools to 23 games with a victory over the Cavaliers (6-4) in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Coan connected with Michael Mayer from 6 yards, Braden Lenzy from 4 yards and Kevin Austin from 15 yards for the Fighting Irish, who also stretched their road winning streak against teams from the ACC to 11 games.
(8) MICHIGAN STATE 40, MARYLAND 21: Payton Thorne threw two of his four touchdown passes to Jayden Reed, and Kenneth Walker ran for 143 yards and two scores, helping the Spartans (9-1, 6-1 Big Ten) bounce back from their first loss with a victory over Maryland the Terrapins (5-5, 2-5) in East Lansing, Michigan.
(9) MICHIGAN 21, (23) PENN STATE 17: Cade McNamara threw a 47-yard touchdown pass to tight end Erick All with 3:29 left and the Wolverines (9-1, 6-1 Big Ten) stayed in the conference championship race, rallying past the tricky Nittany Lions (6-4, 3-4) in State College, Pennsylvania.
McNamara completed 19 of 29 passes for 217 yards and three touchdowns to boost the Wolverines.
Hassan Haskins ran for 156 yards on 31 carries and Roman Wilson caught a pair of touchdown passes for the Wolverines, who led 14-6 midway through the fourth quarter.
MISSISSIPPI STATE 43, (16) AUBURN 34: Will Rogers threw for 415 yards and six touchdowns, and the Bulldogs (6-4, 4-3 SEC) beat the Tigers (6-4, 3-3) in Auburn, Alabama.
Auburn scored touchdowns on its first four possessions and led 28-3 midway through the second quarter. But Mississippi State rallied, scoring 40 unanswered points behind Rogers’ arm.
(15) UTSA 27, SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI 17: Frank Harris passed for 227 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 54 yards and the Roadrunners (10-0, 6-0 Conference USA) overcame a sluggish performance to beat the Golden Eagles (1-9, 0-6) in San Antonio.
UTSA, Georgia and Cincinnati are the only remaining unbeaten FBS teams following No. 8 Oklahoma’s 27-14 loss at No. 13 Baylor.
(17) HOUSTON 37, TEMPLE 8: Alton McCaskill rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns as the Cougars (9-1, 7-1 AAC) methodically dispatched the Owls (3-7, 1-5) to clinch a berth in the American Athletic Conference championship game, in Philadelphia.
The Cougars have won nine straight games since an opening loss to Texas Tech to secure their first appearance in the conference championship game since winning the American Athletic in 2015. They will likely face No. 2 Cincinnati, which has to win one of its remaining two games — at home against SMU next Saturday and at East Carolina on Nov. 26, to join them in the Dec. 4 championship game.
(19) IOWA 27, MINNESOTA 22: Alex Padilla threw for two touchdowns and ran for another in his first career start, and the Hawkeyes (8-2, 5-2 Big Ten) withstood three fourth-quarter comeback attempts to beat the Gophers (6-4, 4-3) in Iowa City, Iowa.
(20) WISCONSIN 35, NORTHWESTERN 7: Braelon Allen rushed for 173 yards and three touchdowns to help the Badgers (7-3, 5-2 Big Ten) beat the Wildcats (3-7, 16-6) in Madison, Wisconsin, for their its sixth consecutive victory.
Graham Mertz threw two touchdown passes, and Wisconsin’s defense recorded four interceptions. Northwestern’s Andrew Marty was picked off three times for a second straight week.
GEORGIA STATE 42, (22) COASTAL CAROLINA 40: Nose tackle Thomas Gore stopped Shermari Jones’ run for a two-point conversion with 1:09 to play and the Panthers (5-5, 3-3 Sun Belt Conference) held on to defeat the Chanticleers (8-2, 4-2) for their first-ever victory over a ranked opponent, in Conway, South Carolina.
(24) LOUISIANA-LAFAYETTE 35, TROY 21: Levi Lewis threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score to help the Ragin’ Cajuns 9-1, 7-0 Sun Belt Conference) beat the Trojans (5-5, 3-3) in Troy, Alabama.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
(6) MICHIGAN 77, PRAIRIE VIEW A&M 49: Eli Brooks scored 15 points, Caleb Houstan added 13 points, and the Wolverines (2-0) cruised to a 77-49 victory over the Panthers (0-3) in Washington.
Hunter Dickinson scored 11 points and added 10 rebounds for the Wolverines, who improved to 16-2 in regular season nonconference games under third-year coach Juwan Howard.
(9) DUKE 67, CAMPBELL 56: Four Blue Devils scored in double figures as No. 9 Duke (3-0) held off the Camels (2-1) in Durham, North Carolina.
Paolo Banchero led Duke with 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting, seven rebounds, a steal and a block.
Ricky Clemons and Cedric Henderson Jr. each scored 18 points apiece for the Camels. Henderson also had 11 boards, helping Campbell outrebound Duke 34-31.
(12) MEMPHIS 90, NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL 51: Freshman Emoni Bates scored 15 points and Landers Nolley added 12 to help the Tigers (2-0) defeat the Eagles (0-2) in Memphis, Tennessee.
Jalen Duren and Lester Quinones added 10 points each. Duren also had 10 rebounds for the Tigers, who have won both of their first two games in dominating fashion.
(16) ARKANSAS 86, GARDNER-WEBB 69: Connor Vanover scored 19 points and helped lead a big run that ended the first half to send the Razorbacks (2-0) over the Runnin’ Bulldogs (0-2) in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Vanover had eight points during a 27-5 burst. The Razorbacks turned a six-point deficit into a 16-point halftime lead.
(21) MARYLAND 68, VERMONT 57: Eric Ayala and Fatts Russell each scored 22 points, and the Terrapins (3-0) rallied to defeat the Catamounts (1-1) in College Park, Maryland.
Ben Shungu scored a career-high 27 points and Isaiah Powell added 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Catamounts (1-1), who have not defeated a Big Ten team since 1977.
(24) UCONN 89, COPPIN STATE 54: Adama Sanogo kept up his sharp shooting, tying his career high with 20 points as the Huskies (2-0) beat the Eagles (0-4) in Hartford, Connecticut.
R.J. Cole added 16 points and Tyrese Martin 15 for the Huskies.

(11) MICHIGAN 82, ST. FRANCIS BROOKLYN 46: Naz Hillmon scored 19 points on 9-of-10 shooting and the Wolverines (2-0) rolled to a win over the Terriers (0-2) in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
