Social Drinking, Elevated.
There’s a new kind of buzz coming to the Maine cannabis market. Hi5 cannabis infused seltzers are making their grand debut this weekend. This new way to enjoy cannabis comes in six delectable all-natural flavors with rapid effects, no calories, and no hangovers.
Unlike other edibles in the cannabis market, Hi5 seltzers use a proprietary technology that helps consumers feel the effects quickly through THC absorption directly into the bloodstream (versus traditional metabolization). The quick on-set of effects alleviate that common “I don’t feel anything, I’ll have another…” narrative that is common with edibles.
The drink is well-positioned to be a strong competitor to alcohol following nationwide trends around this type of cannabis product. The discrete approach to drinkables offers consumers a more social way to enjoy their cannabis. The more controlled effects open the door to a wider array of consumers who are curious to try infused products, but may have been turned off by them in the past. It remains one of the fastest-growing product categories in cannabis today, and it’s easy to see why.
The Hi5 brand was developed by Theory Wellness, who originally launched the drink in Massachusetts, but Maine has always been part of the vision. Theory announced the launch as part of their one-year anniversary celebration of opening recreational cannabis sales at their South Portland location. “While the brand began in Mass, it was always part of the plan to bring it to Maine. It’s an entirely new concept for cannabis enjoyment and we think people are going to love it as much as we do” shares Brandon Pollock, CEO of Theory Wellness.
Hi5 cannabis infused seltzer is available exclusively at Theory Wellness locations in Bangor, South Portland, and Waterville for people 21+. They will be launching all flavors over the coming weeks, along with a line of fast-acting Hi5 chews in the near future.
