There are many qualified candidates running for the Portland Charter Commission. I would like to single out one. I will be voting for Anthony Emerson for one of the at-large seats.

Anthony was a student of mine at the University of Southern Maine. He brings a youthful energy to the process. He struck me as being a very thoughtful person, someone who takes the time to thoroughly examine issues.

A lot of important decisions affecting our city’s future may be incorporated into the charter. I trust Anthony to make those decisions with the best interests of Portland’s citizens in mind.
