Brian Batson, District 3 candidate for the new Charter Commission, is in a unique position, having served three very effective years on the City Council during the most contentious time of conflict between then-Mayor Ethan Strimling and City Manager Jon Jennings.
Brian has no fixed opinion regarding the city power structure but feels that there should be a non-elected administrator-manager and a strong mayor.
He is open to an in-depth discussion, not only of the leadership structure and the role of the council, but also issues such as public financing for clean elections and encouraging the councilors to advance policy.
Brian is thoughtful and respected by his former councilors and constituents in District 3.
