WELLS — Matteson Orendorf hit a run-scoring double in the eighth inning Wednesday as Kennebunk edged Wells 8-7 in an extra-inning softball game.
Olivia Durham picked up the win for Kennebunk (6-4). Madison Pike had four hits, including two doubles, with Skyler Holder adding three hits.
Ava Kreie led Wells (0-7) with three hits. Chloe Carbonneau had a double, and Savannah Grover hit a home run.
SCARBOROUGH 9, CHEVERUS 2: Sylvia Foley drove in three runs, including a two-run homer in the fourth inning, as Scarborough (5-0) pulled away from Cheverus (1-4) at Portland.
Mollie Verreault, the winning pitcher, added a two-run homer in the sixth and scored twice for the Red Storm, who took command with a three-run first.
MARSHWOOD 14, TRAIP ACADEMY 2: Marshwood (7-1) scored in five of the six innings, including four runs each in the first and fifth, and defeated Traip Academy (1-4) at South Berwick.
Jadyn Eastman and Maddie Lindgren had three hits apiece, and Reid Johnson added a solo homer for the Hawks.
Addie Hale had two hits for Traip, which made six errors.
NOBLE 11, MASSABESIC 10: Noble (4-5) scored two runs on two overthrows in the bottom of the eighth inning to overcome Massabesic (3-5) at North Berwick.
After Massabesic scored in the top of the eighth, Noble, which forced extra innings with a four-run seventh, put runners on first and second with one out in the bottom of the eighth.
An overthrow of first base on a ball hit by Allie Moore drove in the tying run, and on the same play, an overthrow of third brought in the winner.
Lexi Volinsky, Giulianna DoCarmo and Paige Bronkema drove in runs as the Knights tied it in the seventh.
MORSE 7, BRUNSWICK 5: Haley Jackson drove in three runs to lead the Shipbuilders (4-2) past the Dragons (6-2) at Bath.
Camdyn Johnson earned the victory, striking out 10 and allowing four hits.
Abby Carpenter mashed her second home run in as many games for Morse.
Kelsey Sullivan had two hits and Sophia Morin smacked a home run for Brunswick.
BASEBALL
MORSE 8, BRUNSWICK 6: Brenton Cahill drove in three runs and picked up the win as the Shipbuilders (2-4) edged the Dragons (1-8) at Bath.
The Shipbuilders scored four runs in the second inning and three in the third to take control. Cahill allowed six runs and struck out eight.
Tanner Rapoza took the loss for Brunswick, allowing seven runs (four earned) in two innings. AJ Wolverton paced the Dragons with three hits and three RBI.
LISBON 10, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: The Greyhounds (5-2) scored seven times in the second inning in a five-inning game against the Patriots (2-7) at Lisbon Falls.
Caleb Philips had two hits and Justin Le had a double and an RBI.
Mike Sweeney and Zack Winchester each had a hit for Gray-New Gloucester.
FRYEBURG ACADEMY 15, POLAND 6: The Raiders (4-3) scored seven runs in the second inning to beat the Knights (3-5) at Poland.
Ethan Lord led the Raiders with two hits and three RBI. He also got the win.
For Poland, Dylan Sellinger hit a two-run homer in the fourth. Hunter Gibson had three hits.
GIRLS’ LACROSSE
BIDDEFORD 20, TRAIP ACADEMY 2: Abby Allen had seven goals and two assists, and Valentina Laflamme added four goals as Biddeford (4-4) breezed past Traip Academy (0-4) at Kittery.
Cece Keller and Emma McAlevey added two goals each for the Tigers, and Kylie Parent, Melandi Martel, Natalie Roy, Zowie Cheetham Wilmot and Daniella Emerson also scored.
Vanessa Hale finished with seven saves.
DEERING 12, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER/POLAND 8: Morgan Shibles scored seven goals as Deering (1-1) powered past Gray-New Gloucester/Poland (1-4) at Gray.
Shay Rosenthal had three goals and Grayson Soldati added two for Deering.
Ellie Steele led Gray-New Gloucester/Poland with three goals. Cady Kluck had two, and Andrea Smith, Tiffany Ha and Ashley Wilson also scored.
FALMOUTH 10, CAPE ELIZABETH 5: Eva Clement scored six goals as the Yachtsmen (6-1) beat the Capers (1-5) at Falmouth.
Sloane Ginevan added two goals and two assists, and Avi Fishman and Lucy Taylor also scored for Falmouth, which led 7-1 at halftime. Patty Riley had four saves.
Claire McDonald led Cape Elizabeth with three goals and one assist. Greta Frankivicz and Charlotte Graham also scored, and Cammie Wood made eight saves.
PORTLAND 9, BONNY EAGLE 7: Elizabeth Littell scored three goals to help Portland (3-3) hold off the Scots (0-4) at Standish.
Mia Merrill, Emily Seavey, Lauren Gerber, Chelsea Dana, Ella Reagan and Lucy Howe also had goals for the Bulldogs, who led 6-3 at halftime.
Lily Perkins scored four goals for Bonny Eagle. Portland goalie Samira Doiron finished with six saves.
FREEPORT 19, ST. DOMINIC 7: Meredith Feller’s four goals and one assist helped the Falcons (5-0) beat the Saints(2-4) at Freeport.
Hannah Groves put up three goals and two assists, with Ellie Whittier adding three goals and adding one assist. Piper Williams had seven saves.
Taryn Cloutier and Emily Wallingford scored two goals apiece for St. Dom’s.
BRUNSWICK 10, MT. ARARAT 4: Emily Cloutier had five goals and an assist as the Dragons (4-2) beat the Eagles (2-3) at Topsham.
Kelsie Carlton, Kiki Dinsmore, Gia Guernelli, Elizabeth Putnam and Gwen Thom each had one goal for Brunswick. Alamea McCarthy made eight saves.
Maddie Daulerio, Cecelia Greenleaf, Belle Hammond and Maddie Kinney scored for Mt. Ararat.
BOYS’ LACROSSE
NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 15, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 2: Braden Warde had four goals and three assists as the Panthers (5-2) beat the Patriots (3-3) at Yarmouth.
Mason Bull, Chris Hamblett, Luke Lathrop and Chas Rohde all scored twice for NYA, with Hamblett adding two assists.
Miles Post and Nick Stanley scored for the Patriots.
FRYEBURG ACADEMY 11, LAKE REGION 8: Will Galligan and Miles Garland scored three goals apiece for the Raiders (4-2) as they topped the Lakers (1-6) at Fryeburg.
Owen Galligan scored twice for Fryeburg. Patrick Harris made 11 saves.
Jason Harlow had five goals for Lake Region. Zachery Vogel scored three.
