Falmouth senior forward Owen Drummey was named Thursday one of three finalists for the state’s most prestigious boys’ hockey honor, the Travis Roy Award, which is given to the top Class A player and honors the late Yarmouth and North Yarmouth Academy standout who was paralyzed during his first college shift with Boston University in 1995. Roy passed away last October.
Drummey is joined as a finalist by Lewiston goalie Keegan McLaughlin and Edward Little defenseman Will Cassidy. Drummey, a four-year star for the Yachtsmen, who scored no shortage of huge goals, is the ninth player from the program to be named a finalist. He hopes to receive the award and join former Falmouth winners Peter Gustavson (2005), Isak Nordstrom (2015) and Theo Hembre (2018). The award will be bestowed April 18.
