PORTLAND — The Cumberland County Emergency Management Agency is looking for artwork for the cover of its regional hazard mitigation plan.
Submissions of artwork, photographs, drawings or other 2D mediums can be realistic or abstract. Artists of any age are encouraged to enter.
The purpose of the plan is to help municipality review its priorities to reduce the severity of hazards over the next five years and find ways for Cumberland County to assist in those efforts. It addresses natural hazards like flooding and wind storms along with technological hazards, human-caused hazards and terrorism, and public health emergencies and pandemics.
Submissions will be accepted until 8 a.m. April 9 and should be emailed to emaintern@cumberlandcounty.org. The artist’s name, age (if under 18), mailing address and a brief description of the submission should be included. Winners will receive a preparedness prize pack and recognition in the plan.
