CONCORD, N.H. — New Hampshire will terminate its contract with a facility that provides drug treatment to young people after several residents were hospitalized and will review other agreements it has with the facility.
Republican Gov. Chris Sununu also said Wednesday the state will be looking for a new contractor to provide youth treatment services and is working to transfer the remaining five patients housed at Granite Pathways Youth Treatment Center in Manchester.
Four girls and a boy were taken to a hospital Monday night after a 911 caller said the children may have taken the sedative Xanax.
Granite Pathways has denied the residents overdosed. The organization said it called 911 because it believed that residents had used drugs, showed signs of impairment and because of a serious behavioral issue of one resident.
