BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick High School boys soccer team improved to 8-1 with a 5-0 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference victory over Skowhegan on Thursday. 

Lane Foushee scored nine minutes into the game when he drove a pass from David Nzuzi past Skowhegan keeper Gage Morgan (12 saves). 

Later in the half, Josh Musica doubled the lead, with Nzuzi earning his second helper. 

In the second half, Nzuzi (corner kick from Zeke Spiro) made it a 3-0 contest, and goals by Foushee and Liam Driscoll completed the scoring. Diego Matwa earned an assist on Driscoll’s goal. 

Jack McDiarmid had six saves for the shutout.

The Dragons visit Mt. Blue on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

Mt. Abram 11,
Wiscasset/Boothbay 0

Cam Walters, Kenyon Pillsbury and Tyson Hill each scored two goals as the host Roadrunners (7-2) topped the Wolverines (0-6-1) in Mountain Valley Conference action.

The Roadrunners also got goals from Evan Allen, Jon Jordan, Troy Hupper, Kody Chapman and Kyle Presby.

Goalie LJ Travis made 12 saves for the Wolverines, who host Monmouth on Saturday at 6 p.m. Mt. Abram goalies Ian Allen and Damien Thurlow combined to make two saves. 

Hall-Dale 4, Lisbon 0

Akira Warren had a hat trick to help power the Bulldogs at Farmingdale in a key MVC contest.

Josh Nadeau also scored for Hall-Dale (9-0-1), with Warren, Kia Lucas, Adam Scovil and Ian Stebbins picking up assists. Sam Sheaffer made nine saves for the shutout.

Lisbon dropped to 8-2 after having its seven-game winning streak snapped. The Greyhounds host Monmouth on Monday at 3:30 p.m.

Richmond 1, St. Dom’s 1

At Auburn, goaltender Kyle Tilton made 21 saves to help the Bobcats escape with a tie in a crossover matchup. 

Richmond sits at 5-1-1 and hosts Greater Portland Christian today at 4 p.m. before heading to Vinalhaven/North Haven on Saturday.

Jaden Webster scored the goal for the Saints (3-4-2).

Mt. Ararat 2, Bangor 2

Jonah Zell powered in a penalty-kick goal with 5:54 remaining in regulation to lift the Eagles (4-4-1) to a KVAC tie with the Rams (3-2-3) at Bangor. 

Eli Ouellette tied the game for Mt. Ararat 12 seconds into the second half off an assist from Spencer LeClair. 

Bangor received a goal each from Andrew Munroe and Jacob Munroe. 

Mt. Ararat had the best chance in overtime, with Rams goaltender Austin Conway (three saves) stopping an Eagles breakaway. James Singleton made four stops in the Mt. Ararat cage.

The Eagles host Cony on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Girls soccer

SKOWHEGAN — Molly Taub scored both goals to lift Brunswick to a 2-0 KVAC win over Skowhegan. 

Isabella Banks and Mackenzie Dorr each picked up an assist. 

Aisley Snell made three saves for the Dragons, who are 5-2 and host Mt. Blue on Saturday at 6 p.m. on the high school field. 

Skowhegan fell to 2-6. 

St. Dom’s 1, Richmond 0

Emily Wallingford’s lone goal gave the host Saints a crossover win over the Bobcats, who fell to 5-3 and visit Vinalhaven/North Haven on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Olivia Hallee assisted on the goal, and netminder Hannah Kenney turned away six shots as St. Dom’s improved to 2-6-2. 

Richmond received eight saves from Liz Johnson. 

Field hockey

CAPE ELIZABETH — Aynslie Decker, Hannah Groves, Ally Randall and Autumn Goulding scored for Freeport in a 4-0 Western Maine Conference win over Cape Elizabeth. 

The Falcons (7-3-1) took a 3-0 halftime lead.

Piper Sherbert made four saves for Freeport, which visits St. Dom’s on Monday at 4 p.m. 

Christiana Pinette stopped 12 shots. 

Mt. Ararat 1, Belfast 0

Wyley Fitzpatrick found the back of the net in the first half to lift the Eagles to a KVAC win over Belfast at Topsham. 

Lily Koslosky assisted on the game’s lone goal, with the Mt. Ararat defense of Annie Wilkins, Megan Reed and Gracie Morrell playing well. 

Lily Schenk (three saves) and Emma Lapreziosa (nine saves) split time in the Mt. Ararat (8-2) net. Lapreziosa preserved the one-goal win with a penalty-stroke save late in the second half.

Gardiner 5, Morse 0

Maddy Farnham scored two goals to power the Tigers (8-3) past Morse (5-5) at Bath.

Haley Brann, Maggie Bell and Leah Pushard also scored, with Brann adding three assists for Gardiner.

Kassidy Collins stopped the only two shots she faced for the Tigers. Emily Myers had six saves for Morse, which returns to action on Saturday at home against Belfast (10 a.m.).

GORHAM — Gorham improved to 7-1 with a 3-0 victory over Brunswick, which fell to 1-7 and visits Falmouth on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

The Rams (7-1) earned 25-15, 25-11 and 25-18 set wins.

Talia Catoggio led Gorham with 17 service points, six aces and 12 digs. Ursa Steiner had six aces and 26 set assists, and Meg Perry and Ellie Perry finished with 11 and seven kills, respectively.

Brunswick was led by Jaden Lohr (three aces, four kills), Kassidy Dixon (five digs, one kill) and Kathleen Trapp (two aces, two kills, two digs).
