Kennebec Estuary Land Trust will host a workshop on how to make skin salve 10 a.m. Saturdatm Sept. 7 at the LOCAL Garden in south Bath.
This workshop is designed for adults and children 8 years old and older. Containers and supplies will be provided. A $5 donation is suggested to cover the supplies.
LOCAL Garden Coordinator Laurie Burhoe has made her own using this recipe in past years. Calendula, in the marigold family, are flowers that have a huge variety of uses. Oil made from the flowers is gentle and cooling, perfect for anyone spending a lot of time outdoors and is exceptional for those with sensitive skin. Join Burhoe to get the recipe using coconut oil, beeswax and lavender essential oil.
This is a light rain or shine event. Due to limited capacity, registration is required by visiting www.kennebecestuary.org/ or by calling (207) 442-8400. The LOCAL Garden is located at the corner of High and Lemont streets. This program was sponsored by the Merrymeeting Bay Trust and the Whole Kids Foundation.
