Editor,

Thanks to the Journal Tribune for its recent story about students returning marine life they studied during the school year to tidal pools in Kennebunk.

This was an interesting topic and it was refreshing to read about students doing something important and meaningful for a weekend activity.

We are all surrounded by nature and co-exist with thousands of other species and that was precisely the aim of this program. Teaching children about the human relationship with the world around us is vital to our own survival on this planet.

I commend the individuals, young and old, who participated in this project and my hat is off to the individuals who conceived this noteworthy initiative.

Again, thanks to the newspaper for letting us know about this event and I’d like to see more articles about the environment and conservation in the future.
