MEDFORD/SOMERVILLE, Mass.  — Nearly 1,500 undergraduate students were awarded degrees in disciplines ranging from the sciences and engineering to the humanities and fine arts during Tufts University’s annual commencement, which featured an address by award-winning actress and activist Alfre Woodard.

Local graduates from the Tufts School of Arts and Sciences and School of Engineering included:

• Alexander LeBlanc of Kennebunk with a Bachelor of  Science degree in Biology

• Emma Cusack of Kittery with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Magna Cum Laude

• Zoe LeBlanc of Lyman with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering, Cum Laude
