TOPSHAM — Amanda O’Neill, Ema Hawkes, Bella West and Jaden Lohr each singled in a run during a four-run second inning as the Mt. Ararat High School softball team hustled to a 7-0 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference victory over Hampden Academy on Monday. 

The Eagles are 2-13 and visit Brunswick today at 4 p.m. 

Megan Reed, Camille Rowe and West combined on the six-hit shutout. 

Lohr (3-for-4) added a two-run single in the fourth, while Hawkes scored in the sixth. 

Abby Lyons and Eliza Murphy had two hits for the Broncos. 

Cony 9, Mt. Ararat 8

The Eagles dropped a tough KVAC decision at Augusta on Friday. 

Mt. Ararat jumped to a 4-0 first-inning lead with West singling, Lohr doubling and Emily Wormwood belting a grand-slam home run. 

Cony answered with six runs in the third inning. 

Trailing 8-6 in the sixth, Brooklyn Belanger, Gabe McGuire, Tanley Tibbets and Alexis Couverette had a key hits as the Rams tallied three runs. 

Lisbon 2, Telstar 1

Sadie Hardt doubled in Sarah Haggerty for the eventual game winning run as Lisbon notched an Mountain Valley Conference victory over Telstar in softball action Friday afternoon.

The Greyhounds (9-5) scored first with a run from Mallory Fairbanks in the first inning.

The Rebels answered in the bottom of the second when Natasha Mason led off with a triple. She scored on a base hit from Hannah Evans.

Lisbon visits Winthrop today at 4 p.m. The Ramblers downed the Greyhounds at Lisbon on Saturday, 15-5. 

Carrabec 14,
Wiscasset 2

Sarah Olson and Trinity Slate each had a double and two singles to lead the Cobras to the MVC win in North Anson on Monday.

Nevaeh Turnham added a double and a single for Carrabec (3-12) while Abby Richardson had two singles. Shyanne Burnham earned the win, striking out eight.

Wiscasset fell to 1-14 and visits Oak Hill today at 4 p.m.

Girls lacrosse

BATH — Cony rallied for a 10-9 KVAC overtime win over Morse on Friday at McMann Field. 

Sydney Avery scored the game-winning goal for the Rams (6-5). 

Emma Warner led Morse (3-8) with three goals and two helpers, with Maddie McDonough adding two goals and an assist, and Nikki Brazee two goals. Marija Medenica and Rosa Atienza chipped in a goal each, with Sydney Moore and Mary LaRochelle picking up an assist each. 

Abby Sreden turned away 12 shots in the Shipbuilder net.

Kami Lambert and Sierra Clark had three goals apiece for the Rams, with Sarah Cook making five saves. 

Morse hosts Lewiston today at 5 p.m. 

Baseball

GRAY — Toby Holt, Gabe Wagner, Heath Cockburn and Anthony Panciocco had two hits apiece as Freeport rolled to a 14-3 Western Maine Conference win over Gray-New Gloucester on Friday. 

The Falcons are 12-3 and host Yarmouth today at 4 p.m. 

Holt and Panciocco each drove in a pair of runs, with Cockburn scoring three times and Wagner twice.

Cockburn and Holt combined on the mound (three hits, five walks, three strikeouts). 

The Patriots committed 13 errors. 

Lisbon 20, Telstar 5

The visiting Greyhounds plated 12 runs in the first inning in the MVC contest at Bethel on Friday. 

Nick Ferrence was 3-for-3 in the Lisbon win, with Hunter Brissette, Lucas Francis, Neil LaRochelle, Levi Levesque, DJ Douglass and Hunter Davis adding two hits each. 

Lisbon visits Winthrop today at 4 p.m.

Cony 4, Mt. Ararat 3

Ashton Cunningham hit a two-run single in the sixth inning that gave the Rams (9-5) a KVAC win over the Eagles (8-6) at Augusta on Friday.

Cunningham also had a single for Cony. Riley Geyer saved the game with a strikeout with a runner on second base.

Devin Tobin had a solo home run for Mt. Ararat, which visits Brunswick today at 4 p.m.
