SANFORD — Charlene Conant became the 38th employee of SIS Bank to have the honor of naming an organization for a donation and chose the York County Community Action Corporation (YCCAC) to receive this month’s $500 gift from the bank.
The mission of YCCAC is to alleviate the effects of poverty and promote the self-sufficiency of the people of York County, Maine. A unique organization, YCCAC manages a range of resources; from primary health and dental care to income support and economic opportunity, transportation to housing and heating, and early childhood education. YCCAC also partners with other organizations as needed to fully support the needs of its clients and patients.
Conant, a Teller at SIS’ Springvale branch, chose YCCAC because the organization had once provided fuel and food assistance to a close family member. Conant witnessed how this community organization changed this person’s life for the better and wanted to pay the organization back for its efforts.
“It’s organizations like YCCAC that ensure the success of our communities. When every individual, no matter his or her status or wealth, has an opportunity to thrive, the community becomes strong and vibrant together,” says SIS Bank President & CEO Blaine Boudreau. “Thank you, Charlene, for so thoughtfully choosing this organization.”

SIS Bank is officially changing its name to Partners Bank effective July 1.
