Main Street Bath is encouraging folks to venture downtown Saturday for their Spring Into Summer event.
“Spring Into Summer is focused on getting community members out and about and supporting their city,” according to a news release from the economic development group.
The event features family-friendly activities downtown, community events around Bath, a Social Media Scavenger Hunt and a Gift of Bath Promotion, as well as street musicians throughout the day on Front and Centre streets, a giant bubble-making machine at Island Treasure Toys, cooking demonstrations for families and adults at Now You’re Cooking, sidewalk sales and business open houses.
There will also be facepainting, a giant jenga game and hula-hooping up and down Front Street. The city Trolley will be running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and there will be firetruck rides on the city’s antique firetruck as well.
Spring Into Summer is scheduled to compliment other ongoing events in the community, including Community Day at Maine Maritime Museum from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the weekly Farmers Market at the Bath Waterfront Park from 8 a.m. to noon and the Schooner Fare returning to the Chocolate Church Arts Center at 7:30 p.m.
For those participating in the Gift of Bath promotion, spend $50 at participating businesses on May 18th and submit your receipt for a free $10 Gift of Bath certificate, good at dozens of Downtown Bath locations.
