TOPSHAM — Dory Kulis carried a perfect game into the seventh inning before settling for a one-hit shutout as the Morse High School softball team rolled to a 14-0 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Mt. Ararat on Monday.

Kulis struck out 16, walked one, and permitted only one hit — a single to Eagle Ema Hawkes.

Brook Kulis singled and drove in three runs for Morse (4-3), with Anastasia Alaboudi adding two singles and two RBIs. Dory Kulis doubled, with Abby Carpenter chipping in two singles, and Paige Faulkingham, Halle Johnson, Kaylee Creamer, Kali Pierce and Julia Goddard adding a single each.

Megan Reed and Camille Rowe combined on the mound for Mt. Ararat (0-7). The Eagles visit Lewiston today at 4 p.m.

Morse returns to action today at Medomak Valley (4 p.m.).

Lisbon 28, Wiscasset 0

The visiting Greyhounds (2-1) rolled to a Mountain Valley Conference win over the Wolverines (0-6).

Erica Hill spun a one-hit shutout for Lisbon, striking out nine and walking one. The Greyhounds host defending State Class C champion Madison on Wednesday (4 p.m.).

Sydnie Thayer took the loss for Wiscasset, which visits Mountain Valley on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Hampden 4, Brunswick 3

Trailing 3-2 in the home half of the seventh inning, the host Broncos rallied for two runs for a walk-off KVAC win over the Dragons.

Brunswick led throughout the contest as the Dragons scored two runs in the first inning when Morgan Plourde drove home Kelsey Sullivan and Mia Klimash with a two-out single to right field.

Hampden Academy got a run back in the second inning as Cameron Neal hit a solo home run to left field.

The Broncos and Dragons were locked in a pitchers duel through the next three innings as Hampden Academy’s Sydney Hatch and the Dragons’ Shea Sullivan did not allow a run until Klimash again scored on a Plourde single to right in the sixth inning.

Hampden Academy answered with a run in the bottom of the inning as Neal went to third on a double by Addie Hughes and scored on a sacrifice bunt.

Brunswick (2-5) looked to add to its lead in the seventh as Mia DeSantis beat out a bunt for a hit. DeSantis stole second with no outs before she was thrown out at third on a bunt attempt.

The Dragons made two costly errors in the bottom of the seventh inning before Neal drove in the winning run with a single over the head of the drawn-in outfield with Hatch on third with one out.

Hatch picked up the win, going the distance and limiting the Dragons to four hits while striking out eight. Sullivan took the loss, scattering six hits, striking out nine and allowing two earned runs.

Brunswick hosts Morse on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Baseball

FREEPORT — Shea Wagner tossed a one-hitter in the opener, and Toby Holt and Blaine Cockburn combined on a two-hitter in the nightcap as Freeport swept a Western Maine Conference doubleheader from Cape Elizabeth, 10-1 and 6-2.

Wagner had a pair of hits, including a double, and drove in a run in the first game. On the mound, he struck out five and walked four.

Heath Cockburn singled twice, and Holt singled and doubled as the Falcons (5-2) pounded out nine hits.

Cole Hoffman had Cape’s only hit.

Freeport scored three runs in the second and third frames in Game 2 as Gabe Wagner had two hits, and Shea Wagner and Holt a single each.

Holt and Blaine Cockburn combined for six strikeouts and a walk.

The Capers received a single each from Hoffman and Jake Tinsman while falling to 0-6.

Freeport heads to Old Orchard Beach on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Hampden 7, Brunswick 2

Wyatt Harriman picked up the mound win as the host Broncos pulled away from the Dragons in KVAC action.

Derek Gendreau and Jackson Thayer picked up three hits in the win for Hampden Academy (4-1), with Kent Oliver adding two base-knocks.

Sam Masse and Henry Burnham drove in a run each for Brunswick, which fell to 2-5 and hosts Morse on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Cam Daly took the loss, with Cal Wilby and Daly each scoring a run.

Lisbon 27, Wiscasset 0

The Greyhounds tallied 11 first-inning runs to roll to an MVC win over the Wolverines.

Lisbon (5-0) added seven runs in the second, six in the fourth and three more in the fifth, finishing with 19 hits.

Lucas Francis and Levi Levesque led the way with three hits apiece, with Hunter Brissette, Noah Austin, Neil LaRochelle, Jack Tibbetts and Mason Booker adding two base-knocks each.

Levesque and Nick Ferrence combined on the two-hitter with 10 strikeouts.

Haden Dunning and Brian Faye each singled for Wiscasset, which fell to 0-6 and visits Mountain Valley on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Lisbon hosts Madison/Carrabec on Wednesday, also at 4 p.m.

Boys lacrosse

BATH — Brunswick held off a Morse second-half rally for a 15-11 KVAC victory at McMann Field.

The Dragons, 6-0 and slated to visit Greely on Saturday at noon, led 10-5 at the half before the Shipbuilders (2-4) rallied to draw within three, 12-9, after three quarters.

Jacob Belanger led Brunswick with five goals, followed by Aiden Glover with two tallies and three helpers, and Nate Girardin with two goals and an assist. Jack McDiarmid and Nolan Lyne chipped in two goals apiece in the win, with Chandler Coombs (goal, assist) and Tyler Nadeau (goal) also scoring.

Seamus Mann tallied five goals and dished out two assists for Morse, with Ethan Pascuzzo adding a hat trick and a helper, with Wyatt Hudson finishing with two goals and two assists. Mason Savary added a goal and two assists.

In goal, Shipbuilder Jacob Mowery turned in a personal-best 17-save performance. Brunswick’s Connor Pendergast had 12 stops.

Maxon Brochu picked up seven ground balls for Morse, with Alden Harden, Lucas Rogers and Soren Langord playing well.

Morse hosts Gray-New Gloucester on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Girls lacrosse

ROCKLAND — Nikki Brazee and Emma Warner scored three goals each to power Morse to a 10-6 KVAC win over Oceanside.

The Shipbuilders ended a three-game losing skid to improve to 2-3, while the Mariners fell to 0-3.

Morse led 6-3 at the half.

Sydney Moore, Maddie McDonough, Delaney Pascuzzo and Marija Medenica added a goal each, with Moore, Brazee, Warner and Medenica each picking up an assist.

Abby Sreden turned away nine shots in the Morse cage.

Mattie Hooper led Oceanside with three assists and a goal, with Gabby Straka (goal, assist), Hope Butler (two goals), Nicole Ladd (two goals) and Caileigh Pease (assist) pitching in on the scoresheet.

Lydia Laslavic had 11 saves for the Mariners.

Morse visits Edward Little on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Lewiston 13, Brunswick 2

The host Dragons suffered their first loss in KVAC makeup action.

The Blue Devils (3-2) rode balanced scoring as Rachel Ouellette, Kelsie Lynch and Grace Dumond each tallied three goals. Christian Chase, Katie Lemieux, Brianna Dube and Abbie Langelier chipped a goal each.

Rian Sachs and Emily Cloutier scored for Brunswick (2-1), which hosts Portland on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
