NEW HIRES
Geoffrey Grayson was named senior vice president, retail regional manager for Camden National Bank’s southern market with nine banking centers from York to Bath.
Grayson brings more than 10 years of leadership experience in the banking industry. Most recently, he served as vice president at Century Bank and Trust in Boston.
Batson River Brewing & Distilling in Kennebunkport hired Ryan Maiola as director of sales.
Maiola was previously a partner and director of sales & marketing at Henniker Brewing in New Hampshire.
PROMOTIONS
Batson River Brewing & Distilling in Kennebunkport announced the promotion of partner Matt Dyer to director of operations.
Dyer has been overseeing all farm, distillery and tasting room operations as well as restaurant, bar and retail sales. He will focus on preparing the company’s new tasting room and lead new product development efforts while working with the brewing and distilling teams.
The University of Southern Maine Board of Trustees approved the following promotions and tenure for three faculty members: Paula Gerstenblatt, Ph.D., Mary Anne Peabody, Ph.D., and Anita Stewart McCafferty, Ed.D. All three have been promoted to the rank of associate professor.
Gerstenblatt is an associate professor in USM’s School of Social Work. She is the founder and former director of the Mart Community Project located in rural Mart, Texas.
Peabody is a department chair of social and behavioral science. Prior to coming to USM, she served as deputy director of national services with Children’s Institute.
McCafferty is an assistant professor of educational leadership at USM. She taught at public schools for 15 years, she served as athletic director, assistant principal, and principal at middle schools in Maine. She also has served as an adjunct instructor at the University of Maine in Orono and at Kennebec Valley Community College.

Diversified Communications recently presented its Chairperson’s 7 Cs Award to Bob Callahan, group vice president – commercial marine|technology|grocery group.
BOARD APPOINTMENTS
John Grew was named to the board of directors for Portland Wheelers, which provides outdoor adapted biking fun for people with disabilities.
Grew is retired from Indiana University and brings a fiscal management background to the board.

Cassidy Neal is an attorney at Drummond & Drummond.
Christina Brabazon is an accomplished photographer and artist.
Ann Burrill is vice president, learning and development at Androscoggin Bank.
