And, Cora Spelke competed in both the 100 and 200 backstroke.

The boys 200 medley squad of Nicco Bartone, Dom Marco, Brandon Johnson and Matt Yost were strong, taking 15th in the 200 medley relay in 1:34.50.

Johnson earned his first night swim and captured seventh in the 50 free in 20.56. Evan Willertz also competed in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke.

“It was another amazing swim meet for our swimmers and team,” said LRSC coach Jay Morissette. “It was the culmination of a long season and a lot of hard work paid off with the 18th-place finish. Most of the teams ahead of us come from cities of over 100,000 people, and it is fun knowing we can compete against them.”

On Saturday, a U.S. swimming sanctioned meet was held using a 50-meter pool. Former LRSC and Morse High School standout James Wells swam a 56.59 in the 100 back to qualify for the 2020 U.S. Olympic trials.
