NORTHFIELD, Vt. — Felix Brassard scored 2:46 into overtime to send No. 4 Norwich to the NCAA Division III Frozen Four with a 2-1 victory over No. 12 University of New England on Saturday night at Kreitzberg Arena.
Brassard wrestled the puck away behind the UNE net and scored to the top corner for the game-winner. The Nor’easters finish the season with their best record in program history at 21-7-2.
Brendan Donohue put the Nor’easters in front at the 4:07 mark of the opening period as he back-handed one past Cadet goaltender Tom Auburn. Brett Mecrones and Liam Neuman assisted on the go-ahead score. Coby Downs put back a rebound later in the first to tie the game 1-1 at intermission.
