“A light exists in spring, Not present on the year, At any other period, When March is scarcely here.” Emily Dickinson
Like us, the frozen earth yearns for spring. March is our go-between month. March’s energy rises within us. We have kept Winter company. Nature is the common, universal language understood by all.
Gradually the season’s cold grip begins to weaken. The rhythm of the natural world is awakening. We spring forward. March is the time to laugh, play and hope. We are keeping the season as Mother Nature nurtures. All things seem to be stirring, including us. Perhaps we have spring fever.
Time waits for no one. How aware of it I am as we celebrate birthdays. It seems we go from birthday party to birthday party in our family. Yesterday we had a gathering for three. Each year of their lives blazing brilliantly, from the 1-year-old to the 67-year-old!
Friends say to me, “your family is always having a party.” I smilingly reply, “I guess we always are.” (It seems that way.)
I hope to leave the simple joys of childhood when they think of mom, yiayia, (grammy) and great yiayia. Let’s make a commitment now to fill the unwritten pages with lasting moments.
Barbara Kingsolver tells us “the very least you can do in life is to figure out what you hope for. And the most you can do is live inside that hope.”
As the months and seasons move on we set goals and change some. What is the definition of a goal? A goal is the ongoing pursuit of a worthy objective until accomplished.
The Snell Farm News says “patience” is what winter teaches as they look forward to 2019 growing season. Let’s visit some of their early plans for the year.
