SANFORD — Sanford Police, Maine State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are looking for a teen who has been missing from her Sanford home since Tuesday.

Ellie Thompson, 16, was last seen leaving her home at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. She was wearing a brown fuzzy jacket, jeans, a purple hooded sweatshirt and carrying a bright orange backpack.
Thompson is 5 feet, 1 inch tall, weighs about 100 pounds, and has blonde hair and green eyes.
Detectives and officers of the Sanford Police Department have checked with Ellie’s friends and family, and several locations locally. As of 11:30 a.m. Thursday, she had not been found, said Detective Eric Small.

With the assistance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit, the search for Ellie’s whereabouts continues.
Anyone with information as to her location, or anyone who believes they may have seen her is asked to contact Sanford Police Department at 324-3644, ext. 1, or call your local law enforcement agency
