PORTLAND — Cumberland County government is asking residents and business owners to respond to a survey on their satisfaction with current internet offerings and future broadband needs.
The survey is part of a broader project launched last year to help communities identify their broadband resources and determine whether they should pursue local projects to improve services.
The county will use data collected through the survey in conjunction with research and planning services performed by the James W. Sewall Co., to provide a playbook of community broadband resources.
A link to the survey is at http://cumberlandcounty.org/broadband. It should take less than 10 minutes to complete. No marketers will have access to the data, and no one will contact respondents as a result of taking the survey, according to the county.
