WALES — Michael Farrington scored 10 points to power the Lisbon High School Unified basketball team to a season-opening 34-29 victory over Oak Hill on Tuesday.

The Greyhounds (1-0) also received six points from Dawson Martel in the win. Nine players scored for Lisbon, which hosts Lewiston on Friday at 3:30 p.m.

Marcel Trepanier led all scorers with 18 points for the Raiders (0-1), with Thomas Grayson adding eight.

Girls basketball

READFIELD — Grace Despres had 14 points as Maranacook captured a 60-38 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Morse.

Anna Drillen scored 14 points, while Gabrielle Green scored 10 points and had four rebounds for Maranacook (8-7).

Kaylee Garland and Julia Goddard each scored seven points for Morse (0-15), which hosts Leavitt on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Boys basketball

YORK — Brady Cummins and Will MacDonald each scored 17 points as York battled back for a 58-42 Western Maine Conference win over Freeport.

The Wildcats (13-2) trailed at the half, but closed with a 25-10 run to improve to 13-2.

Freeport fell to 9-6 and visits Lake Region on Friday at 7 p.m.

Toby Holt led the Falcons with 19 points.

Morse 55

The visiting Black Bears put up 30 points in the second quarter for a KVAC win at Bath Middle School.

Morse fell to 3-12 and visits Leavitt on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Cash McClure had 17 points for Maranacook, with Mitch Root adding 14 and Duncan Rogers 12.

Gabe Aucoin paced the Shipbuilders with 17 points, while Josh ter Mors chipped in 11, and Tom Warren and Arius Eich eight each.

At the line, Morse was 9-of-17 and Maranacook 9-of-14.

North Yarmouth Academy’s Te’Andre King scored 13 of his 28 points in the first quarter as the Panthers pulled away from Pine Tree Academy at Yarmouth.

Chris Hamblett added 18 points for the Panthers, who led 22-8 after a quarter. Miles Chapman drained three 3-pointers and ended with 11 points.

The Breakers visit Rangeley today at 3:30 p.m.

Chris Amisi had 28 points for Pine Tree Academy, with Grant Milano adding 19.
