CAMDEN HILLS — The Mt. Ararat High School boys basketball team finished with a strong 17-7 fourth-quarter advantage for a 66-51 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference victory over Camden Hills on Thursday.
The Eagles stayed hot, winning their fourth straight contest to improve to 9-6 on the season.
Mt. Ararat and the Windjammers stayed close for three quarters, with the visitors holding a 49-44 lead after three quarters.
Jared Balser had a double-double in the win with a game-high 25 points and 11 rebounds. Will Kavanaugh pitched in 17 points, with James Singleton adding 13. Max Spelke ran the show, dishing out 11 assists.
Jeremy Fraser paced the Windjammers with 19 points, followed by Ryan Clifford with 13 and Iount Lodge with 10.
At the line, Mt. Ararat was 10-of-12 and Camden 6-of-8.
The Eagles to Lewiston this upcoming Thursday at 7 p.m.
Girls basketball
BOOTHBAY HARBOR — Glory Blethen picked up 29 points to power undefeated Boothbay to a 64-14 Mountain Valley Conference win over Wiscasset.
The Seahawks (15-0) led 20-6, 35-8 and 51-14 at the quarter breaks.
Ashley Abbott had eight points and Faith Blethen six points in the win.
For Wiscasset (0-14), Alice Yokabaskas and Sydnie Thayer split 12 points.
The Wolverines host Richmond on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
