SOUTH HIRAM — The Old Orchard Beach boys basketball team evened its record at 3-3 with an impressive 93-58 road win over Sacopee Valley on Thursday night.
The Seagulls held Sacopee Valley to single digits in the first two quarters, while OOB’s Ryan Crockett scored 26 of his game-high 33 points in the opening half.
Zach LaPlante added 24 points for the Seagulls, who held a 54-15 lead at the break.
OOB (3-3) shot an impressive 9 of 15 from long distance in the win.
Yarmouth 52, Wells 49, OT
The visiting Clippers outscored Wells 10-7 in the overtime period to secure the win on Thursday.
Tyler Bridge led Wells with 22 points, 12 rebounds and five steals.
Girls Basketball
Old Orchard Beach 43, Sacopee Valley 31
The Lady Gulls built a 19-point lead in the fourth quarter and then held on for the victory on Thursday.
Shani Plante led OOB with 17 points and Sam Donnell added 10.
OOB would get seven rebounds and six points from Julia Clark, while Maggie Strohm collected nine boards and blocked six shots in the win.
Girls Hockey
Cheverus/Kennebunk 6, Brunswick 0
Abby Lamontagne scored a hat trick and dished out an assist to help Cheverus/Kennebunk improve to 9-1 on the season.
Cheverus/Kennebunk would also get three assists and one goal from Sophia Pompeo. Sarah Noyes and Zoe Mazur also scored in the win.
