SANFORD — Those who work for Evonik, based in Sanford but with operations throughout the country, helped Stuff the Bus with school supplies so school children would have what they need.
Jen Brown, Market Segment Specialist, organized Evonik’s Acrylic Products division Stuff the Bus event, which ran through the month of November. Every employee from the West to East coast all came together. In all, 34 backpacks and more than 600 items were collected for the kids.
Items collected included crayons, glue sticks, tissues, erasers, folders, markers, notebooks, pencils, pens and more than kids use in school on a regular basis.
Wanda Parent, who heads the from Stuff the Bus program, dropped by Evonik Sanford on Dec. 4 and collected the donations.
In 2017, Stuff the Bus assisted an estimated 3,000 school aged children with supplies.
This includes pre-K through senior year, military families, and teachers who typically use their own funds to assure there are enough supplies.
