SCARBOROUGH — Cecile S. Travers, 95, passed away at Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough, Maine on Dec. 26, 2018.
Cecile grew up in New York City, moving to Old Orchard Beach in 1960. She loved walking the beach with her dog and friends.
Cecile is predeceased by her husband of 30 years, John Travers, her son Robert Leonard, and a granddaughter.
She leaves behind her daughter, Miriam Leonard of Scarborough, granddaughters Kelly Gott of Scarborough and Kate Gott of Houlton, and four other distant grandchildren.
Cecile’s family is grateful for the loving care provided by Maine Veterans Home-Scarborough during her last years. Cecile was an anatomical donor to the University of New England, with arrangements through Hope Memorial Chapel.
Donations in her memory may be made to Maine Veterans Home or Hospice of Southern Maine.
A celebration of Cecile’s life for family and friends will be held on her birthday, Feb. 8; the location will be announced at a later date.
