BRUNSWICK — Beth Labbe had two goals and dished out an assist to lead the Brunswick High School girls hockey team to its first win of the season, a 6-2 victory over Gorham/Bonny Eagle/Massabesic at Sidney J. Watson Arena on Thursday.
Shea Sullivan added a goal and two assists, Greta White and Elena Palmer each had a goal and an assist, and Emily Factor also scored for the Dragons, who are 1-7 and host “Battle of the Bridge” rival Mt. Ararat/Morse on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
Gorham received third-period goals from Isis Adams and Anna Rathburn.
Boys basketball
BOOTHBAY HARBOR — Hunter Crocker put in 17 points to power Boothbay to a 63-34 Mountain Valley Conference win over Richmond.
The Bobcats are 1-5 ahead of next Friday’s home date with Lisbon (7 p.m.), while the Seahawks improved to 5-0.
Nick Morley chipped in 10 points in the win, with Kaleb Ames adding nine, Steve Reny eight and Mike Hollowell seven.
Calob Densmore paced the Bobcats with 13 points, followed by Mason Blake with nine and Dakotah Gilpatric with six.
At the free-throw line, Richmond was 2-of-7 and Boothbay 9-of-17.
Wiscasset 21Spruce Mtn. 93
The host Phoenix rolled in MVC play at Jay.
Camden Phillips had 17 points for 4-0 Spruce Mountain.
Josh Gabriele and Billy Pinkham picked up six points each for Wiscasset, which fell to 1-5 and visits Boothbay on Jan. 4 at 7 p.m.
Boys hockey
PORTLAND — Brandon Caron scored the go-ahead goal 43 seconds into the third period, then added the final goal as Massabesic/Bonny Eagle/Old Orchard Beach (2-1) beat South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete, 4-1, at Troubh Ice Arena.
Jared Harris and Chris Westgate also scored for Massabesic.
Gus Lappin scored in the second period for the Red Riots, which fell to 2-2 and visits Thornton Academy on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
