SCARBOROUGH — Roger Joseph Pinard, age 76, and former lifelong resident of Biddeford passed away on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018 following a long illness at Pine Point Center in Scarborough.
He was born on Oct. 14, 1942 in Biddeford the son of Joseph and Emma (Gagnon) Pinard. He was raised and educated in Biddeford and graduated from St. Louis High School. Mr. Pinard worked as a machinist in the Greater Biddeford area for many years. He retired from Pratt & Whitney in North Berwick with over 30 years of service.
He loved watching NASCAR races and hockey games. He was an avid Maine Mariners and Boston Bruins fan. He enjoyed the outdoors and as a younger man he especially liked to go fishing, camping and canoeing.
Mr. Pinard is survived by his three children, his son, Kenneth Pinard and his husband, Sergio Sabino of Alexandria, Virginia, his daughter, Michelle Pinard Dow of Kennebunk, and his son, Michael Pinard and his wife, Sherry of Biddeford. His grandchildren Samantha and Rebecca Pinard of Biddeford, as well as several nieces and nephews also survive him. He was predeceased by his sister, Jeannette Leeman.
There are no calling hours or funeral services. Mr. Pinard’s family requests donations in-lieu of flowers to: Alzheimer’s Association, National Headquarters, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
