SACO — Gerard J. Cassette, 55, of Saco, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018, at Southern Maine Healthcare in Biddeford.
He was born in Biddeford on Feb. 28, 1963, a son of Gerard and Pauline (Metayer) Cassette. He graduated from Biddeford High School Special Education Program, Cclass of 1983.
Jerry loved life and had many hobbies. He was a sports enthusiast, enjoyed music, dancing and playing cards with his mother and sister. He also liked bowling, miniature golf, basketball and pool.
Throughout his life, Jerry realized the importance of his faith. He was a parishioner of the former Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, serving as an altar server for seven years. He was a member of the former Sacred Heart League and Notre Dame Prayer Group and Lady of Light Prayer Group in Old Orchard Beach. Most recently, he was a parishioner of St. Philip Church.
Jerry’s family has created wonderful memories. One special memory is Jerry playing his harmonica at all his family member’s birthdays. This was a family tradition that made everyone smile. He will be sadly missed.
Gerard was predeceased by his parents.
He is survived by two sisters, Priscilla Poirer and her husband Gilles, and Dolores Gosselin; four brothers, Wilfred Cassette and his wife Priscille, Richard Cassette and his wife Diane, Roland Cassette and his companion Claire, and Raymond Cassette and his companion Mary; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018, at Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Biddeford.
